Meet Kathy

Kathy Heitz, MS, CCC-SLP

I am a sensory trained, neurodiversity affirming speech language pathologist who values supporting regulation to improve engagement and help children make progress in their communication. I have experience as an elementary school SLP, as well as working in a multidisciplinary pediatric clinic. I now specialize in early intervention and especially enjoy working with young autistic children.

I live for the moments of connection, the knowing smiles and sparkling eyes when my clients get the input they need to be able to engage.

Play is the foundation of my therapy. You will often find me singing, dancing, climbing, jumping, and swinging with my clients because they make more progress when the “work” is meaningful and motivating.

Caregiver and family member involvement is key in my therapy. Parents often want to know what they can do at home to help their child. By being involved in therapy activities, caregivers and family members can be confident in how they work on communication outside of speech therapy.
